Title: Assistant Director of Admissions
Status: Full Time
This position assists the Dean of Admissions with the development and execution of recruitment, enrollment, and communication strategies. In addition, this position collaborates in developing and administering recruitment efforts and initiatives to increase the number of law students from underrepresented racial and ethnic groups, LGBTQ, and other groups that contribute to the diversity of the legal profession. Toward these ends, this position develops relationships with undergraduate pre-law advisors and other external constituent groups and executes numerous programming and communication initiatives aimed at driving the applications of qualified and interested applicants, as well as enrollment. Additionally, this position counsels prospective students on law school admissions, legal education and the school's academic program and resources, represents Mitchell Hamline at school forums and graduate/professional school fairs, and also develops and cultivates relationships with admitted students. This position is a member of the Admissions Committee, reviews applications, and makes admission recommendations.
Qualifications: J.D. required; 3-5 years experience in higher education administration or marketing is preferred with experience in all forms of social media, and a commitment to encouraging students from diverse backgrounds to pursue college and law school; previous experience in admissions is a plus; requires travel up to 20%; high degree of professionalism and ability to work with confidential and sensitive matters; strong interpersonal and communication skills; strong organizational skills; ability to work in a fast-paced environment; ability to work independently and as a member of a team; ability to develop collaborative working relationships both internally and externally; effective public speaking and presentation skills; high degree of initiative; ability to think creatively; skilled at project management; and comfort with data. Must possess some knowledge and understanding of issues affecting the educational attainment of students from diverse backgrounds
