Cocina Latina time!

Cook along with our executive board member Braynell Estrada on the second episode of MHBA’s Cocina Latina. Braynell will teach us how to prepare a traditional Nicaraguan meal “Gallo Pinto” and “Tortilla de Harina”. This will be a good opportunity to know more about Braynell and to connect with other MHBA members.

Gallo Pinto & Tortilla de Harina

- 1 lb. cooked rice (it is preferable to prepare the rice the day before)
- 1/4 onion finely chopped
- 1/3 olive oil or coconut oil
- 1 lb. of cooked beans or 1 can of beans (if possible, red beans)
- 2 cups of flour
- 2 tps of salt and sugar
- 1 tps of baking soda
- 1 tbps of butter
- 1/2 cup of milk or water
