On Becoming a Judge: Things to Consider Before You Apply, When You Apply, and If You Get an Interview.

The presentation will explain the judicial application process and provide useful insight regarding the specific criteria that Governor Walz and the Judicial Selection Commission are looking for in judicial candidates. In addition, Chairwoman Lola Velazquez-Aguilu will discuss how you can prepare for a career on the bench and for the appointment process. Following the presentation, she will also participate in a Q&A session with attendees both in person and online (webinar details to be posted). This presentation is particularly timely given the number of current and expected judicial vacancies. Attorney at all levels, whether you are considering seeking appointment to the judiciary now or later in your career, are welcomed.
