Consumer Analyst

The Office of Minnesota Attorney General Keith Ellison is seeking qualified consumer analysts to assist the Office to improve access to justice, fairness and opportunity for Minnesota residents in a wide variety of matters including the following: debt collection, employment, utilities, medical billing, and housing. Analysts are primarily responsible for answering the Office’s Consumer Assistance Hotline and providing information to Minnesotans on a range of inquiries and assisting in resolving disputes when possible. This position also involves preparing responses to correspondence the Office receives from the public. Analysts work collaboratively with our consumer protection staff and occasionally attorneys to review consumer complaints for violations of consumer protection laws, gather evidence, and prepare documents.
This position is a rare opportunity to be a part of a committed team of Minnesota Attorney General professionals whose common mission is to make a positive difference in the lives of Minnesotans from all backgrounds and requires dynamic individuals with excellent organizational and communication skills, as well as the ability to work creatively and collaboratively. You will receive training on various consumer protection topics.
Requirements: We are seeking candidates with a four-year degree and good academic credentials or an equivalent combination of education, training, and experience. Applicants must have the abilities and motivation to perform exceptional work on behalf of the public. Applicants should also have a strong work ethic, good judgment and character, and leadership potential. Fluency in Spanish, Hmong, Somali or other relevant language for Minnesota’s diverse communities is strongly encouraged.
