The Assistant County Attorney III performs professional legal services for the Washington County Board of Commissioners and other Washington County boards, commissions and departments; prosecutes criminal and delinquency cases; provides legal representation in civil suits; and provides legal services for child support enforcement and paternity proceedings. The Assistant County Attorney III trains, advises and counsels Assistant County Attorney IIs and Is, as well as paralegal staff. Work assignments provide the opportunity to use knowledge and skills obtained through prior experience and education. An Assistant County Attorney III is the highest level in the Assistant County Attorney classification series and is expected to work on the most difficult, complex and important cases.
