Aafedt, Forde, Gray, Monson & Hager is a law firm that specializes in the defense of employers and insurers in workers’ compensation and civil disputes. Our firm is retained by major insurance carriers and companies. We are experienced in all forms of insurance litigation, including workers’ compensation, personal injury, property damage, product liability, automotive, construction, and premises liability.

Position Classification: Full-time, work from home
Firm Business Hours: 8:00 am to 4:30 pm

Responsibilities: Providing high quality and cost-effective legal representation while demonstrating knowledge and expertise in the workers’ compensation process. Responsible for independent case handling with a resolution management focus. Ability to independently handle a full to moderate caseload with moderate level of severity and complexity from case inception through trial/resolution. Independently drafts pleadings, motions, briefs, discovery and other file documents. Attends court events and other appointments independently. Handles and actively seeks opportunities to become involved in special projects and on committees. Provides recommendations and case analysis to partners on appropriate file handling strategy. Completes all required administrative tasks including time reporting, closed cases, reports and other materials appropriate to performance of job duties. Effectively makes use of technology and automation in the practice of law. Travels as required to meet business needs.

Qualifications:
Zero to three years of relevant experience
Extensive knowledge of relevant Wisconsin statutes and application of same, or a demonstrated willingness to learn
Independent judgment and research, litigation, and analytical skills
Must be licensed to practice law in the State of Wisconsin or eligible for licensure
