Outreach Coordinator – Legal Risk Detector

Southern Minnesota Regional Legal Services is seeking an Outreach Coordinator to help us deliver the Legal Risk Detector (LRD) to our service area. This is a one-year grant funded position with a high probability for funding in the long term. The Legal Risk Detector is an online tool to help identify when elders may benefit from legal assistance or education. LRD is part of SMRLS Legal Advocacy for Older Persons (LAOP) program serving elders in our communities.

The LRD Outreach Coordinator is primarily responsible for sourcing, establishing, and maintaining relationships with community partners who will using the tool in the field. The LRD Outreach Coordinator will be the point person for internal and external stakeholders for all aspects related to this program. The position is responsible for providing outreach and education regarding the LRD tool and associated services to potential community partners and referral sources and bringing new clients into the Agency.

RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Develop new partner relationships by planning and organizing outreach activities to call on potential referral outlets and other sources of prospective partners.
  • Assists the agency s LAOP Legal Staff in processing and on-boarding new partners.
  • Communicates with and supports existing partners as needed in conjunction with LAOP legal staff.
  • Works with Supervising Attorney to develop outreach plan and tracking mechanisms.
  • Assist in establishing and maintaining partnerships with non-profit organizations, government agencies and other external stakeholders to advance awareness of the LRD tool and promote its use.
  • The coordinator will serve as the point person for the LRD team to ensure that workflow considerations, data collection, and reporting needs are incorporated into our legal software program, Legal Server.
  • Provides training and technical support to LRD partners and internal stakeholders.
  • Coordinates with Development Team on LRD funding reports.
  • Coordinates with LAOP staff and technology partners on tool maintenance and updates.
  • Maintains a portfolio of LRD partnerships ensuring accurate contact and coordination information.
  • Provides additional support as needed to LAOP legal staff.

QUALIFICATIONS

  • AA degree preferred, but not required.
  • 3 years’ administrative systems advocacy experience working in a governmental or senior services agency strongly preferred, but not required. 
  • Experience with community-based organizing.
  • Experience in the elder-care field.
  • Advanced computer skills including Microsoft Office suite and CRM data systems and online platforms.
  • Excellent communication skills, both oral and written.

SALARY:  $46,904+ DOE.  Excellent Benefits Provided.
