Provide support to licensed attorneys, preparing asylum applications, drafting motions and uploading documents into ECAS with the immigration court, preparing routine immigration forms for work and travel authorization, hardship waivers, “one-step” filings, removal of conditional residency, consular processing for fiancees and immigrant visas, and gathering supporting documentation needed for immigration filings and court proceedings.
Specific duties include:
- Work directly with attorneys to manage case load from the intake through processing, filing and adjudication.
- Work under a licensed attorney to prepare family-based, humanitarian, asylum, and employment-based immigration filings, including drafting of detailed affidavits, legal analysis, country conditions analysis, and gathering documents in support of each type of filing.

- Interview clients and draft supporting letters, personal statements, and immigration forms.

Education and experience requirements:
Prefer paralegal degree or experience, or foreign equivalent. Foreign language skills are a plus in addition to being fluent in English speaking and writing proficiency.

Responsibilities:
Develop a working knowledge of core legal practice areas that impact the Bank, including but not limited to contracts, employment, banking supervision and regulation, discount window lending, payments systems, law enforcement, data and research, insurance, tax, and intellectual property.
Provide advice, counsel and other in-house legal services to Bank management and staff and interact regularly with attorneys from other Federal Reserve Banks and the Board of Governors of the Federal Reserve System.
Handle matters that may involve complex legal issues regarding the impact of applicable laws and regulations on the Bank’s business operations, policies, and strategic objectives.
Draft, negotiate, and review contracts and advise management of potential risks in contractual areas.

Qualifications:
Juris Doctorate degree required and must be admitted to practice law in the state of Minnesota.

Job Summary
The Office of Attorney General Keith Ellison has a clear mission: we help Minnesotans afford their lives and live with dignity, safety, and respect. The Office seeks an attorney to join its Employment, Tort, and Public Utilities Commission Division (“ETP”), which is housed in the Solicitor General’s Section of the Office. The lawyer’s primary caseload will involve defending the State from employment and tort claims in state and federal court. There will also be opportunities to defend claims that Minnesota statutes are unconstitutional or to work on cases of state-wide impact.
One of the roles of the ETP Division is to defend the State and its agencies, officers, and employees from tort and employment claims. The attorney we seek to hire will have responsibility for a set of assigned cases (and charges), which the attorney will handle from the initial Answer or Rule 12 motion, through discovery, dispositive motion practice, mediation, trial, and appeal. Mentorship and training are available through formal and informal channels. Because cases can be venued anywhere in the state, periodic travel throughout Minnesota may be required.
This position is eligible for a hybrid work environment.
Minimum Qualifications
- Graduation from a law school accredited by the ABA
- Licensed to practice in the State of Minnesota or ability to obtain licensures within 90 days of hire
- An interest in handling tort and employment cases on behalf of the State before administrative tribunals, district courts, and in the appellate courts;
- Excellent research skills, and written and oral communication skills (a cover letter with a writing sample is required with application submission)
- Ability to:
- travel to counties throughout the state
- litigate independently and make strategic decisions as lead counsel on a diverse caseload
- multitask by managing a high-volume caseload and meeting tight deadlines
- contribute positively to a team and interact successfully with colleagues, clients, counsel, judges, and members of the public

The Office of the General Counsel (OGC) is seeking a skilled, client-focused and experienced lawyer with excellent academic credentials to advise and represent academic departments and business units in complex business transactions. The title under which the successful candidate will initially serve will depend on years of relevant experience. The successful candidate must be able to prioritize multiple competing priorities and communicate effectively with colleagues and clients. Significant drafting and negotiation experience is a requirement, and experience working in an in-house environment will be strongly considered. The candidate will be expected to handle contracting matters and transactions from beginning to end with minimal supervision, participate in team-wide process improvement initiatives, and provide advice and guidance on complex legal matters to University leadership and departments.

Qualifications
Required: The successful candidate must possess each of the following:

- Excellent written and oral communication skills

The Research Department of the Minnesota House of Representatives is hiring one law clerk to provide legal research assistance for Legislative Analysts on any of the issues that may arise in the state legislative process.

In general, the person hired must have successfully completed at least one year of law school and have excellent research and writing skills. The pay range is $26.80 to $36.30 per hour, depending on qualifications and educational level. The job is temporary, part-time, estimated 10-20 hours/week, depending on need, and requires in-office work. Start and end dates are flexible, but ideally the position will begin by early December at the latest and last until sometime in May.

The Office is currently seeking an Assistant Attorney General (AAG) to serve as the attorney manager of the Public Safety Division, which is housed in the Health and Safety Section of the Office. As the division manager, you will manage a division of 14 AAGs and 7 legal assistants who support the mission of the Office. The Public Safety Division represents the Commissioner of Public Safety on matters involving implied consent, revocations, forfeitures, and title matters; provide advice, counsel and representation to several boards; and respond to citizen inquiries. The work includes trials in district court, Office of Administrative Hearings, appellate advocacy, and civil litigation.
A successful candidate in this position will have the opportunity to support the mission of the Office by:
- Managing the division’s employees, including hiring, onboarding, coaching, and evaluating team members
- Managing cases, including assigning cases, providing direct work on cases, and reviewing draft submissions of others
- Maintaining positive client relationships, whether internally or externally, through regular communication and coordination
- Managing division operations, including setting division goals, attending regular management meetings, compiling reports and budgets, and communicating key issues to the executive team
- Creating a positive and inclusive work environment in which the division can perform high quality legal work for the people of Minnesota
- Leading the division in carrying out the Office’s mission

Minimum Qualifications
- Graduation from a law school accredited by the ABA and licensed to practice in the State of Minnesota or ability to obtain licensures within 90 days of hire
- Six or more years of civil or criminal litigation experience

- Proven ability to lead in an inclusive, creative, and collaborative work environment
- Exceptional interpersonal skills and the ability to work collaboratively with colleagues and stakeholders
